It is once again time for Lakeland’s annual Christmas parade.  This year I’ll be doing a bit more than spectating.  I’ve foolishly lovingly volunteered to join my child’s school’s float committee.  That’s right; I’m building a parade float.  We’ve been meeting weekly since early in October planning, building, and decorating.  The final steps will take place this weekend and on Thursday night (December 6th), we’ll grace the streets of downtown Lakeland.  I’ll be walking the route while she gets to ride in relative comfort on the float of course.  Come on out and wave at us.  Merry Christmas.

While scanning my Google Reader earlier this month, I came across the announcement of a meeting for area bloggers at the Black and Brew in downtown Lakeland.  I’m going to go and see what it’s all about.  I’m going to open up the comments on this post so new people I meet tonight can sound off or share a link or whatever.
